Christian Retreats for Bereaved Mothers
Mother of Wilde's ministry began with a simple vision: for grieving parents to encounter the love of Christ through prints.
In 2021, after the stillbirth of her son, Noah Wilde, Moria Rooney began creating personalized memorial prints for families who had known loss as she now had. Her prints became a beautiful way to honor each child’s life and give families a tangible reminder of the hope of eternity.

Mother of Wilde continued to grow, and within just a few years, the ministry had formed meaningful partnerships throughout the pregnancy and infant loss community, creating memorial print keepsakes for families across the country and around the world. What began as a simple offering of obedience to God had grown into thousands of prints created for bereaved families and an opportunity for deep intercession.
It was in this place, in 2025, that God asked Moria to give away Mother of Wilde and birth something new. He had been stirring a desire to go beyond creating prints and an online community to now create a physical space where women could encounter Jesus in a personal way as Father, Savior, and Healer. Thus, Holy Ground was born.
Holy Ground was created for bereaved mothers to rest in his presence and as an invitation into healing and deeper intimacy with the Father. Through intimate, Spirit-led retreats, mothers who are grieving can honor their children and have honest conversations as they look at loss and suffering through the lens of Scripture.
The retreat is not designed to provide simple answers to complicated pain. Instead, it creates a sacred space to encounter Jesus, welcoming mothers who are ready to release their pain and find deep healing and a renewed sense of identity after child loss.
Seven Teachings at the Heart of Holy Ground Retreats
1. Grieving
Mothers are given space to share their testimony, lament, and process grief together in light of Scripture. Each retreat creates room for women to bring their sorrow honestly before God. Together, they discover that grief and faith can exist in the same place and that God meets us even in our deepest places of sorrow.
2. The Gospel
The entirety of Holy Ground's ministry is centered around inviting women into relationship with Jesus Christ, being born again through baptism, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Every retreat will include a teaching of the Gospel, who Jesus is, what He accomplished through His death and resurrection, and what it means to place our hope in Him. He is our true peace and joy. There is salvation, freedom, and healing found in no other name.
3. Suffering
Suffering can raise difficult questions about God, faith, and purpose. This teaching explores suffering through a biblical lens, acknowledging the reality of pain while discovering how Christ meets us in it. Jesus is not distant in suffering; He understands it intimately. Women are encouraged to bring their questions to God and discover that suffering does not mean they have been abandoned by Him. Even when we cannot understand what God is doing, we can learn to trust who He is.
4. Healing
Healing is not about forgetting or pretending the pain never happened. It is about allowing the Holy Spirit to meet us in the places that have been hurt, hidden, and closed off. Through prayer, repentance, forgiveness, and confronting the lies that can take root through trauma, mothers are invited to surrender their wounds to Jesus and experience healing. Healing is an invitation to allow God to restore what has been broken and lead us into greater freedom.
5. Biblical Truths
Loss can leave us vulnerable to questions, lies, and beliefs that do not align with God's Word. This teaching helps mothers identify those lies and replace them with the truth of Scripture. Through biblical teaching and prayer, women are encouraged to build their lives on the unchanging character and promises of God rather than on what their circumstances seem to say. The Word of God must become the foundation for how we understand our identity, our suffering, our healing, and our future.
6. Intimacy
God does not simply want us to know about Him; He invites us to know Him. This teaching focuses on cultivating intimacy with the Father through prayer, worship, surrender, obedience, and learning to recognize His voice. Women are invited to move beyond simply asking God for answers and discover the depths of beauty in the secret place. Here we discuss knowing Him personally, trusting Him fully, and remaining close to Him even when they do not understand.
7. Living on Mission
Our stories do not end with loss. Mothers are reminded that their lives still carry purpose, calling, and assignment. This teaching explores what it means to live on mission with Christ — to carry the Gospel, share our testimonies, walk confidently in our identity, and allow God to use even the hardest parts of our stories to bring hope to others. What the enemy intended for destruction can become a testimony of God's faithfulness and a way to advance the Gospel.
Holy Ground's Christian retreats welcome mothers who have experienced pregnancy, infant, or baby loss. Bring your questions, your grief, and your story to encounter the One who makes all things new.
